LeeOlive Tucker is an American Jazz vocalist, educator, actress, song writer, and mentor. She is known in New York City as the Jazz Diva. She sings Gospel, Jazz and freedom songs. She works with many art and entertainment groups, organizations, and venues in the New York City area. She has also lived and performed on St. Thomas, West Indies. She is a supporter of the arts. She is a supporter, member, and has performed with many artistic organizations in New York, such as; Jazzmobile, Harlem Arts Alliance, New Amsterdam Musical Association, New Heritage Theatre Group]], and Harlem Opera Theater. The New Heritage Theatre Group is one of the oldest African American performance groups in New York City.




Her life, her community is a testimony of Harlem's cultural greatness. She is a walking history book of the culture of Harlem. She is known for singing conscious Civil Rights music, blues, smooth Basa Vovas, and various genre's of Jazz, Soul, and pop.

She can be seen around town doing Sunday morning Gospel  brunches, and in the evenings doing Jazz, Blues, etc. She has a very personal approach. When you hear her sing and witness her performances you will feel like you know her, and you can feel her life flowing through her artistic performance. 
Early life
LeeOlive Tucker is a native New Yorker. LeeOlive has a rich Harlem History. She grew up around music. Her mother is a singer, and her daughter is a singer. This is a musical family. Three generations of singers. 
Career
LeeOlive Tucker grew up in a musical family and community. . Her mother was a jazz artist. She was raised in Harlem. She is a non-stop Diva.

Update: Elder Jerome Johnson has passed away. We are taken aback with sadness. There was no support for his plight in continuing to do community work. He was very angry going thru the ageing process, and his dream of building community was deferred, and ignored. It is so sad how so many elders are treated. Che's World - Shashamane

Che's World - Shashamane Che as he is known was born Gorken Wallen in Jamaica. He moved to New York City, and lived in Harlem.  While living in New York City (Harlem) Wallen grew in knowledge and understanding the African Diaspora communities in New York City. Che was able to interact with so many African didasporians that lived in New York City.  He says that living in New York was a learning experience. He learned new skills and polished skills he already had.  Wallen participated in community gardens in Harlem. He was a part of the community garden movement in New York City. He gained gardening skills.
